Launching the first integrated green hydrogen plant in Africa and Emerging Markets
LIVESTREAMThe Consortium of Fertiglobe (an OCI subsidiary), Scatec, Orascom Construction (OC) and The Sovereign Fund of Egypt (TSFE) are launching the first phase of their green hydrogen plant in Ain Sokhna in Egypt, called Egypt Green Hydrogen (EGH).
The plant is the first integrated green hydrogen plant in Africa and Emerging Markets and is intended ultimately to house a 100MW electrolyzer capable of producing up to 90k tons of green ammonia per year, including 12,000 tonnes of hydrogen, powered by 260 MW of solar and wind.
The first production phase, powered by a 15MW green hydrogen Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (PEM) will support the production and sale of 8k tons per annum of green ammonia.
